Emergency Medicine Case Studies from the Pitt
The PITT CASEBOOK
Every patient from The Pitt, charted like a real emergency department medical record with clinical timelines, differential diagnoses, medical decision-making, and peer-reviewed clinical pearls.
What Is The Pitt Casebook?
The Pitt Casebook is a clinical charting project created by Dr. Ismat Saidi, an Emergency Medicine resident and full-stack developer. What sets The Pitt apart from other medical dramas is that the medicine is real the differentials make sense, the procedures are accurate, and the clinical decision-making reflects how real emergency physicians practice.
This project treats every fictional patient on the show as if they walked into a real Emergency Department. Each case is written in actual medical charting format: history of present illness, timestamped clinical timelines, medical decision-making with differential diagnoses, therapeutic interventions, and patient reassessments exactly as a physician would document them.
Every case is cross-referenced against medical textbooks, UpToDate, and established clinical protocols, then peer-reviewed by practicing emergency physicians to ensure medical accuracy. The result is a resource that bridges entertainment and clinical education, useful for medical students, residents, nursing professionals, and anyone curious about what really happens in an emergency department.
